The Faculty Council of FHML is the representative advisory body elected by students and staff. The council advises the faculty board, both upon request and on its own initiative. In addition, the council has the right of approval on a fixed series of faculty subjects.

The council consists of eighteen members: six representatives of the academic staff, three of the support staff and nine representatives elected by the students of FHML. The meetings of the faculty council are public, except when confidential agenda items are discussed. The roles and powers of the council are further explained in chapter 3 of the faculty regulations (only available in Dutch).
