What are the perks of being a member? 

Members get discounts for almost all products we offer - events, lab coats, merchandise. Additionally, members face less social stigma from raiding the Helix room fridge

How to become a member?

To become a member you have to be enrolled in one of our study programs (BMS or RMT) and purchase a membership on our website

Where is the Helix room? 

It is at UNS40, A0.635a - one of the yellow rooms next to the lecture halls and Randwyck bar

Who can come into the Helix room? 

Everyone is welcome to enter, converse & help themselves to snacks 

When is the Helix room open? 

Currently from 10.30-14.00 Monday and Thursday, but try your luck anytime as board members may open beyond these hours 

I forgot my lab coat, what to do? 

Contact us, by coming to the Helix room or texting the group chat/ board members; If possible we will lend you one of ours 

Where can I buy lab coats? 

You can buy them directly from us in the Helix room (uns 40, next to Maastricht zaal) or through the merch section on our website

How do I become an active member? 

You can become an active member, by joining one or more committees. This can be done as underlined in the section committees

How do I join a committee? 

For most committees you can apply via the application form or emailing activities_sahelix@maastrichtuniversity.nl and stating your name + which committees you wish to join

To join student evaluation panels (SEPs) you must reach out to education_sahelix@maastrichtuniversity.nl and include your CV + motivation with the aforementioned details and then proceed through and interview stage

When can I apply to committees? 

Whilst we advertise them periodically, applications are open at all times. (excluding SEPs: you must apply before they are formed at the beginning of the year) 

Who can come to events? 

Most events are open to everyone, with members being offered a discounted price. Certain ones may be restricted to only members, but this will always be explicitly stated

I have an event idea! What should I do? 

We will help you organize it! You do not have to be an active member for us to work together. Reach out by coming to the Helix room, or fill out the website form

Who is Karel? 

He is our mascot, Karel the King frog is the reason for our extensive frog theme. You can find his shrine in the Helix room!
