November | 32nd Board

Omg Heyyy!!
So, after a long time (November), it’s time for a monthly update! Mind you, it’s literally November 26th. I am so unbelievably done with this month. Let’s go day by day… Actually that would be too long. Week by week.
In week 44 I celebrated Diwali with my mom and family in Rotterdam. It was awesome to be back in such a festive celebration. I love parties man. All types of parties, but religious ceremonies are so dope. Like literally soooo amazing I can not even describe it like wow!!!
Week 45 was just a regular week… SIKE! One of the dopest events of the year happened: GRADUATION! I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all Helix members and all students that graduated from this crazy study where we are gonna reverse aging and make clones of people to harvest their organs… ANYWAY; Graduation was so dope. I read out quotes and it was so inspiring to learn so much about people in two, three sentences.
In week 46 I spent three days in maastricht. I went to the Efteling, and spent some quality time with my family. The older I get, the more I start to value and appreciate them. My family means a lot to me and I respect them and admire them a lot.
One of the worst things that could happen to a Board happened in week 47. After some stuff I won’t get into, our Head of Education decided to step down from the Board. I suddenly was in all the SEP group chats, and I did NOT know what to do. So imagine getting a text from some random dude going ‘It’s gonna be ratchet’, then like a while later ‘Oh sorry I’m old, you can ignore this’. I feel like I made a great impression on the SEPs <3
We in da middle of week 48 right now, so imma have to pop back in later in the week to finish this, BUT I cleaned my bathroom and I can not stop talking about it. PLEASE ask me about it. It looks so gewdddd :DDDDDD.
Ok hi, I’m popping back to tell u that the rest of week 48 was also really fun. I watched brokeback mountain and even tho it’s such a parodied movie, it’s actually really iconic and deeply touching. I’d recommend it to everyone. Fact of the matter is; these things happened. This was life for lgbtq+’s like 30 years ago. We have come far, but there’s always more to be done in the context of acceptance. Beautiful, gut wrenching movie.
I love you guys,
Arish Pervez

Hellooo everyone 🙂
November has been a very interesting month. A few weeks ago, at a flea market, I came across something very special: a PlayStation 1. I couldn’t resist the urge to buy it. I also bought 4-5 games immediately afterward, which were surprisingly more expensive than I expected 😅.
Now, an update on my position: I’ve gotten used to the tasks given to me in the secretary role, and I actually created my second-ever newsletter for Helix, which I’m very proud of. I’m not always the most creative person in the room 😅, but I did a great job creating the newsletter.
Focusing more on university, it was very nice to be part of the graduation ceremony for the bachelor’s biomed students. Fingers crossed, I'll be the one to actually get my diploma during the next ceremony, and not just attend the event to help out. Still, it was wonderful to see the overwhelming emotions of both the parents and the students, finally letting go of their bachelor’s lives and stepping into the world of a Master's degree.
Finally, I wish you all success on your upcoming exams!

Hi guysss!!
My favorite month (November🥰) has come to an end!
Favorite bc it was my birthday on Nov 29th🥳 I went to Vienna for the first time, spent some days there (it was really very beautiful with amazing food, recommend it to all of you), and now back to Maastricht to study and work again:)
Well, in November we finally formed all the Helix committees and so happy to welcome them all at our GA on December 5th (hope to see you there:) So excited for our future events😍
All committee treasurers started getting trainings from me, we are trying to finish all of them before the GA!
Alsooo, in January we’re planning to collaborate with the faculty of science and engineering association to make an exciting event for you! (Details will come soon😁😁)
Unfortunately, this month, one of our board members left the position. That was sad to all of us, however, we try to move forward, and now we do a lot to keep Helix tasks being done by dividing them between the board. I would like to thank a lot our advisory council for their support in such difficult times for us🙏🙏
Ending on the good note, we are having an ice skating event on December 4th!! Hope to see you theeeere bc I’m so excited!!😃😃
See you around!
With love,
Alisa❤️

This month has been such a rollercoaster.
We started the month by having the first committee meetings and let me say I am sooooooo excited cause I have heard soooooooooooo many good ideas for the future events. It was so much fun because we also had the Randwyck party Good and oldies. I was so happy to see many of you there having fun together. Ofc it was a bit tiring to take care of the drunk friends but that’s what friends are for.
Meanwhile we have gone also through a lot of stuff behind the scene . As every board we encountered some issues, which with the help of the advisory council we overcame really well , but also we later on we had another difficult situation where one of our board members left the board.
And of course the loss of a board member stirred different emotions to all of us and left us with a lot of work to catch up, but also I saw that how strong of a board we are behind the scenes cause we have been catching up pretty well.
Now let me tell you something that I’m really excited about!!!!!! We are doing different meetings with other associations to do different collabs and I cant wait for us to make you part of them!!!!
Alsoooooooooo on the 29th it was Alisa’s bday and since i couldn’t be there physically I could technologically be there through videocall and I am glad cause i didn’t train a pigeon in time to send her a birthday card from me.(HAPPYYYYY B-DAYYYYYY❤️❤️)
And since I started this update with the word rollercoaster I’m gonna end it with it. the last day of this month I went Efteling one of the best rollercoaster places I have been to with a very nice member of our Mylena ( I love you girlie ❤️)
